No particular order.
1.) King Krule- Six Feet Beneath the Moon
I have to admit, this one took quite a while to grow on me, but once it did, oh man, It was on heavy rotation.
Hottest jam (they’re all hot but this one is my favorite right now):
Out Getting Ribs
2.) Ducktails- The Flower Lane & Wish Hotel EP
This year saw two solid releases from Matt Mondanile (of Real Estate). The Flower Lane is a more full featured album recorded with the help of big Troubles while Wish Hotel is an EP recorded entirely by Mondanile himself, harkening back to his earlier solo works.

3.)Beach Fossils- Clash the Truth
A little different direction for Beach Fossils. Still awesome.
4.) Dirty Beaches- Drifters/Love is the Devil
Not one but TWO new albums (released as one double LP) this year from Alex Zhang Hungtai. The first, Drifters, is a more realized step in the direction of the material from Badlands, whereas Love is the Devil is more akin to his film score work and is largely instrumental.
I Dream in Neon
5.) Pure X- Crawling Up the Stairs
More delirious psyche from these Austin dudes. Written while guitarist Nate Grace was recovering from a broken leg, this album sees the introduction of more acoustic guitars as well as synths and vocoders than their debut LP Pleasure. Bonus info: I saw them play at Whole Foods and it was one of the coolest things ever. They stayed at my house and are probably some of the nicest dudes.
Thousand Year Old Child
6.) Merchandise- Totale Nite
New album from these former Tampa punks. A bit more polished sounding than Children of Desire (Possibly due to mastering work done by Spacemen 3’s Pete Kember).
I’ll Be Gone
7.) A$AP Rocky- Long.Live.A$AP
It had some lulls but overall I liked it alot. It had some decent replay value.
Hell feat. Santigold
8.) Black Hearted Brother- Stars Are Our Home
Dude, It’s Neil Halstead. Do I really need to say much else?
(I Don’t Mean to) Wonder
9.) Arcade Fire- Reflektor
Yeah, okay. Duh.
10.) Kanye West- Yeezus
I have to admit I didn’t spend a whole lot of time with this one, but it was so different from anything else he’s done and that’s come out recently I have to give it a little respeck.
